What to Do When You're Angry
When you are angry, there are many ways to deal with your anger. Here are some strategies to help you when you're angry.
1. Calm down:
- Walk away.
- Take three deep breaths.
- Count backwards slowly.
- Think nice thoughts.
- Talk to yourself.
2. Strategies:
- Pound a pillow.
- Squish clay.
- Color your angry feelings into a picture.
- Use angry energy to do something good.
- Talk about your angry feelings.
- Write down what is making you angry.
- Get your body in motion.
- Think about pleasant things.
- Use self-talk.
- Tell how you feel to the person with whom you are having a conflict.
- Try to solve the problem.
- Try to accepts situations you can't change.
