HOW TO APPLY

ADMISSION TO THE PROGRAM IS COMPETITIVELY BASED ON THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

q       previous art courses completed and portfolio

q       personal interview and teacher recommendations

q       scholastic achievement

INTERESTED STUDENTS SHOULD:

q       contact your school  counselor to review your graduation requirements

q       talk to your parents about the program and arrange for transportation

q       call the Visual Art Center at 301 962 1027 to arrange an appointment for
       a visit

q       fill out an application with signatures from your parent or guardian
      and counselor

q       organize your present portfolio for your interview. Slides or photos of 
      large pieces may be included      

q       bring a copy of your most recent report card

q       bring a letter of recommendation from an art teacher

q       if accepted, return to your counselor to arrange a        
      schedule change

      NOTE: Accepted Visual Art Center students may choose to transfer 
to Albert Einstein High School to complete graduation reiquirements
