Dear Parents,
As you know, your child has been working
on an extensive research report and project on one aspect of
his/her ethnic background. I have asked your child to
request that you help him/her proofread the report so that
you have an idea of the scope of the report, and so you get
a chance to read another piece of your child's
writing.
As a culminating activity for this
report, the students and I would like to invite you to an
"International Luncheon" on Thursday, December 3, from
11:30-12:30PM. Your child's report, tourist poster, map, and
flag will be on display in the room for you, other parents,
and other students in the class to enjoy and read. If
possible, I'm asking each child to bring in a small sampling
of a food s/he learned about through research. Following
Montgomery County Health Department regulations, food must
be purchased at a store or restaurant, not made at home. It
should be enough to serve 8-10 people. You and your child
may also wish to dress in traditional clothing of the
country. Both food and clothing are optional
activities.
