  • What do you like best about this job?
  • What do you like least about this job?
  • What advice do you have for a student considering this career?
  • What kind of math do students need to learn to have this career?

Use for background information. Recommended search phrases are "Careers" and "Mathematics" or "Math and Careers." You can also type in more specific career like "systems analysis" or the name of a famous mathematician, "Anna Johnson Wheeler."
World Book Multimedia Encylopedia
This resource is located in the Research Apps folder. Type a phrase in the search box such as "Mathematics." Remember the outline for the large article is on the left hand column. Skim through the outline and select the subtopic you want. This will link you to the right section of the article.
Stand alone CD ROMS. We have several CD's that might help you. Ask Mrs. Paul for Grolier's or Encarta.

Don't forget that some websites are more instructional than others. Please take a look at the internet location below for evaluating a website. Make sure the website you chose is a reliable source before adding it to your Bibliography. Print off and fill out the Web Evaluation Sheet for each website you include in your Bibligraphy.

We will be going to the library on May 17 and 19. Using library materials investigate the career you chose.

Take detailed notes.

You must present your information to the entire class. Use your imagination.

Your presentation should include props (i.e.-posterboard, drawings, PowerPoint). Students have made mini-calculators, cardboard computers, and mannequins. Again, use your imagination. Your oral presentation must iclude note cards and you may use the overhead projector.
Your report must 1) be typed or neatly handwritten in blue or black ink; and 2) include a cover sheet/title page. Then, place your report in a folder. All writing should be brief.
