Every year, many students begin the turkey trot,
(approximately 1 mile), excited about
the prospect of bringing a turkey home for Thanksgiving dinner,(Or maybe a
gift card). Each
grade level has two competitions, one for the boys, and one for
the girls. All students are welcome to sign up, and we encourage them to
do so. The winner for each group, 6 winners per year, will receive that
gift card for Thanksgiving. All students who participate will get a
treat, and the top 10 students will get a small prize. The turkey trot is
a great way to put all of that excess energy to use each fall!
The 2009-2010 school year Turkey Trot will be held on
Wednesday, November 23rd. Students should see their Phys. Ed. teacher
or Mr.Baker for details.
This year the Turkey Trot will benefit Breast Cancer
research. Students are encouraged to seek sponsors from within school
and from the greater community. Here is a
pledge form, contact Mr.Baker
with questions.
