Florida on our 1999 trip. Students working on the
Takoma Park Middle School web page staff were
given the responsibility of creating a web page
for three nights, with the last night being
completed by staff members. Each of the first
three nights, two to three students gave up their
study time, and in about two hours created the
pages you will see.
This was the third year our web site was
updated remotely from Florida, and each year
improvements have been made. The first year this
was attempted, no student help was used, and just
one staff member was involved. We had just one
camera and one computer, with no available modem
hook-ups in the hotel rooms. This year, there
were eight student workers, two Olympus digital
cameras, two Macintosh Powerbooks, and two
faculty members. We also worked in a room set up
specifically for this task, which included the
modem connection. The net gain was about two to
three extra hours of sleep for all involved.
