Folders & Assignment Book

The Take Home Folder, Weekly Folder, and Assignment Book will help you and your child stay organized and on top of his/her school work.

The Take Home Folder allows you to receive notes, homework papers, spelling lists, unfinished work, and more.  Spelling lists will go home every Monday.  Please go through the folder every evening.  If there is unfinished work in the folder please make sure your child completes the work and returns it to school.   The Take Home Folder must go home and come back to school on a daily basis.

The Weekly Folder will start going home in the middle of September.  It will then continue to go home every Thursday.  The Weekly Folder will allow you to see whether or not your child is staying on task, following directions, staying organized, completing class work on time, and completing homework on time.  It will also let you know if your child is working above, on, or below grade level.  The Weekly Folder must be signed and returned to school on Friday.  The Weekly Folder will also contain all of your child's graded work.  Please look through the work and go over the comments with your child.  If there are any papers requiring your signature, please sign them and return them in the Weekly Folder.  Otherwise, the papers are yours to keep.

Your child will use the Assignment Book to keep track of important dates, events, and short and long term homework assignments.  The Assignment Book must go home and come back to school on a daily basis as well.  Please check your child's assignment book daily and initial in the proper space indicating that you are aware of the assignment.  Homework packets are given out on Monday and are not due until Friday.  However, your child will have math homework throughout the week and occasionally will be assigned a separate social studies assignment.  Therefore, it is still imperative that you check it daily.  It is your child's responsibility to write the assignment down.
