I was born in Bay Shore, New York, which is located on the eastern shore of Long Island.  I am the seventh of eight children in my family.  I have three brothers and four sisters.  I graduated from the University of Maryland in 1986 and received a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice.  Soon after, I got married to my husband Rakesh whom I have been married to for twenty years as of September.  Together we have two grown children: Anjali (18) and Neel (16).

 

I started a daycare business when my children were young so that I could be home with them as they went through Elementary school.  I cared for over 16 children during my time in business.   We now have added two beautiful dogs to our family.  Izzie is a  2 year old Cocker Spaniel, and Jazzy is a 7 month old pure bred German Sheppard.  After closing my daycare I began to substitute teach.  I found myself at Stonegate on a regular basis.  I loved working at Stonegate so much that I decided to go back to school to study Education.  I received a Masters in Education from Johns Hopkins University in January, 2005.  It was then that I was hired as part of the staff at Stonegate. 

 

When I am not busy working hard at Stonegate I like to spend time with my family.  We love to travel. So far we have been to seven different countries including: Germany, France, England, India, Austria, Switzerland and Mexico.  Other hobbies include: boating, going to the beach, reading, playing volleyball and playing the guitar.
