PE for the 2010-11 School Year!
What's Happening in PE?

During the next couple months, students will participate in a variety of physical education units. These units include:
- Throwing and Catching
- Volleyball (grades 3-5 only)
- Dance
- Gymnastics
A unit that is one of my particular favorites is the dance unit. This is a great unit for students to see that physical education doesn’t have to be just about sports but you can get a great work out from just dancing. In 5th grade, the students create their own dance in small groups. In 4th grade, we do a dance to a Michael Jackson song. In 3rd grade, we perform an old school dance to the rhythm’s of “Night Fever” by the BeeGees. In kindergarten – 2nd , we perform various dances which include the “La Raspa”, “The Chicken Dance”, and “The Cha Cha Slide”.
