  • Author: Bruce Hale
  • Type of Literature: Mystery
  • Brief Summary:  This book is a mystery about school football players who are missing.
  • What I Think of This Book:  I think this book is good because there are interesting surprises at the end. My favorite part is when Chet Gecko goes around doing interviews. The detective is really a gecko, and he’s very serious. I think someone would like this mystery book because it could have a great surprise at any time.

  • Book Title: All the Lovely Bad Ones
  • Author: Mary Downing Hahn
  • Type of Literature: Mystery
  • Brief Summary:  This book is about two kids who live in a hotel with their grandma. The hotel is supposed to be haunted, so in order to bring in more guests, they fake ghost visits. They awaken the dead and bring horror to the guests. Can they put them back to sleep and save the hotel? Read the book to find out.
  • What I Think of This Book:  I like this book because it’s filled with horror, mischief and funny moments – three of my favorite things! I loved this book and hope other students like it, too.

  • Type of Literature: Fiction
  • Brief Summary:  The story is about Sam who wants fangs more than anything in the world. Sam’s mom has fangophobia and forbids Sam to touch his fangs in the house. Sam decides to run away to Alaska.
  • What I Think of This Book:  I think this book is very interesting. My favorite part was when Sam’s mom screamed because Sam showed her his fangs. The she screamed was so amazing that if you were two miles away you would probably hear her. A person who likes funny and weird stuff would like this book. It is hilarious.

  • Author:Kate Banks
  • Type of Literature:Everybody
  • Brief Summary:  Max’s brother Benjamin collects stamps. Max’s other brother Karl collects coins. Max asks both of them, “Can I have one?” Max decides to start his own collection and starts collecting words and making them into stories.
  • What I Think of This Book:  My favorite part of this book was when Max kept taking words out of magazines and making them into stories. Another favorite part was when Max made up a story about an alligator eating the iguana but then the iguana ate the alligator.
