Our After School programs will be starting up the second week of October and we have some new offerings this year. The information on these clubs has gone home in the backpacks, and applications for joining should be returned to your child’s teacher if your child is interested. Because we always have such a large response, several of the clubs have more that one session. Your child will receive a notification of being in the club so that you will know for certain whether or not he or she is on the list. Spaces are limited so we are accepting students in the order in which the applications are received. Activities will happen on either Tuesday or Thursday afternoon. They end at 4:20 and a bus is available to take children home.

We will hold our annual Harvest Walk on October 30, in which we walk to raise money for the homeless. We encourage all students to fill out a form for sponsorship. Please remember that we have businesses ready to act as sponsors and that it is not necessary for the children to find a sponsor. By signing the form you are giving permission for a business or community partner to donate money in your child’s name. Last year we raised more money for the homeless than any other school in Montgomery County.

As you know, this year we are being especially careful to try to keep flu and other contagious illnesses to a minimum. Every classroom has several hand sanitizer stations for our children to use. If your child does become ill, please do not send them back to school until they have been without fever for 24 hours. This will help insure that others do not become ill.

Parent conferences are being scheduled for November. If you do not already have a time arranged, I urge you to contact your child’s teacher for a day and time. This year the conferences are with both you and your child present and your child will be preparing to speak with you about his or her progress.

Have a colorful and bracing fall season.

Sincerely,

Peggy Pastor
Principal
