Top

The George B Thomas, Sr., Learning Academy After School Program provides academic support and enhancement to high school students to improve their mastery in core academic subjects; Mathematics, English, Science and Social Studies.  The program assists students with homework and helps students prepare for the High School Assessments (HSAs).  Students enrolled in higher level courses, such as Honors and Advanced Placement, are given support to be successful.  The program is after school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  The academic portion of the program runs from 2:30 to 4:00 pm and is followed by a one hour Sports Academy from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.  The first semester is November through January.  The second semester is February through March.  The Sports Academy is operated by the Montgomery County Department of Recreation.  Students who register for the program are expected to attend regularly.

For more information on the GBTLA program at Springbrook, contact Ms. Marie Koch, Assistant Principal at 301-989-5700, Marie_L_Koch@mcpsmd.org.
