Meet the Staff

Ms. Simon, Media Specialist
Four roles define the core responsibilities of a media specialist: teacher, instructional partner, information specialist, and program administrator. I am here to help students and staff obtain information needed and to encourage recreational reading.
I spend my spare time driving my children to various activities, reading, cooking, taking classes, and traveling. I also like to hike, kayak, and swim.

Ms. Strong, Media Specialist
My passion is to help high school students be successful in their academic pursuits. I also love collaborating with teachers to teach classes. The content areas I am slated to work with are: Social Studies, Health, Art. Some of the things I love to help students with are:
- thinking critically about what they find on the Internet
- teaching them to find good keywords for searching
- letting them know that databases often have excellent information
- reading their papers for grammar and content

Mr. Robinette, Media Services Technician
I have been with MCPS for over 27 years. My duties here at Springbrook High include:
- Technical director for TV show
- Media Wizard for the school
- Sound and lighting technician for the school
- Technical advisor for the staff and students

Ms. Pachtman, Media Assistant
I can help you find sources for your assignments, assist with any computer and software application problems, and also help you with overdue and book fine problems. For those of you interested in computer application help, I can offer workshops in Word, Power Point, or Publisher. Please ask!
I am also a student at the University of Maryland and should I have a moment free, I dance!
Ms. Trapp, Media Assistant
I have been a media specialist at Springbrook High School for many years, and part of my job involves the magazines room and processing all new materials. After school I coach indoor track.

Ms. Carroll, Media Assistant
I am happy to be part of the Springbrook Media Center staff. You'll usually find me at the Circulation Desk, checking books in and out. I can also help you with your Edline Account, and answer other questions. I enjoy reading contemporary fiction, and look forward to reading many of this year's Black-Eyed Susan Nominees. When I'm not at Springbrook, I keep busy with my family, and enjoy my daily walks with my hound dog, Roxy!
