IB Rewards - A Listing of Some Colleges and Universities that Generously Reward IB Diplomas and Certificates: List of Colleges and Univerisites (Requires Adobe Reader)

IB Camp - After-school mentoring and tutorial program to encourage and support IB students. Chief components: Senior IB students present informational strategies and assistance to junior IB students.

IB/AP After-School Seminars - After-school study skills, reading skills, organization, note taking and test-taking strategies/activities

Media Center Assistance - Research access to databases Partnership with University of Maryland, College Park, McKeldin Library

College Applications

SENIORS

  • September 2011 complete college applications
  • Ask teachers for strong recommendation letters
  • Complete application essays
  • Remember “early admissions” as a viable option
  • Register for October and November SAT’s
  • Complete Transcript request form in Guidance (request Junior year IB scores be sent with transcript)
  • As part of the college application process, remember to check a university’s policy for awarding credit for satisfactory scores on IB exams.

JUNIORS

  • Begin visiting colleges and college presentations
  • Take the May or June 2012 SAT’s or ACT’s
