You will be doing research on one of the following genetic diseases:

  • Achondroplasia (Dwarfism)
  • ADA (adenosine deaminase deficiency)
  • Albinoism
  • Cystic Fibrosis
  • Huntington's Disease
  • Marfan Syndrome
  • Progeria
  • Sickle Cell Anemia
  • Tay-Sachs Disease

 

With the knowledge you gain from your research, you will become a genetic counselor to a couple that has one of the diseases. Also, the couple will be a carrier for one of the diseases.

 

Below are the online services and websites you will be using to conduct your research. If you will be working from home, you will need to go to Edline (Media Center) to get the logins and passwords for the online services.
