Chorus
For Fourth & Fifth Grades
The Sligo Creek Elementary Chorus is comprised of two hundred Fourth and Fifth Grade Students. Each Grade level of Chorus rehearses for forty-five minutes a week, in the Sligo Creek Elementary Gymnasium. In chorus, we learn how to sight-read melodies and rhythms. We study the elements of music: rhythm, melody, harmony, tone color, texture, music history, style, dynamics and form. We also study choral literature in various combinations of harmony, different styles and languages.
Dance Teams
This year, at Sligo Creek ES, there are two dance teams:
The Sun Catchers Dance Team
(for Third Grade Students)
Our first morning rehearsal for the Sun Catchers Winter Dance Team is Tuesday, October 19, 2011 from 8:15 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in the music room.
The Solar Flares Dance Team
(for Fourth and Fifth Grade Students)
Our first morning rehearsal for the Solar Flares Dance Team Winter Dance Team is Thursday, October 20, 2011, from 8:15 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in the music room.
For all performances, all Dance Team Members need to wear a black outfit. (Black T-shirt, Leotards, Black leggings, sweats, and black modern jazz shoes, if possible)
