5 Points of Information Regarding Student Service Learning (SSL)

1. Documentation of summer service for which SSL hours are desired must be turned in to the school SSL coordinator on MCPS Form 560-51 Student Service Learning Activity Verification.

2. An approved MCPS Form 560-50, Application for Student Service Learning Special Activity is required for students interested in earning SSL hours with political candidates.

3. SSL is a state of Maryland graduation requirement. Know the MCPS SSL guidelines by going to the Web site www.mcpsssl.org or contacting your school SSL coordinator.

4. Get a personal reward while meeting the SSL requirement: serve in an area of interest. Check out Pre-approved Service Opportunities by Interest at www.mcpsssl.org.
