School Beautification

Fall Hours, Pre-approval and Deadlines

  • Coordinator Susie Smith located in the greenhouse building, out by the tennis courts during lunch.
  • Make sure the activity is approved on the pre-approved list for Montgomery County MCPS SSL site
  • If the activity is not on the list a special activity form must be completed before hand
    Application for Special Activity
  • Forms must be signed and hand delivered to the coordinator in the greenhouse building, out by the tennis courts during lunch.

Opportunities

  • Guiding Eyes for the Blind needs volunteers that can be a: Puppy Raiser, Brood and Stud Foster, Early and Home Socializer, or Home Litter Care Provider. This program is aimed to help blind dogs, volunteers can help the dogs with their services. Guiding Eyes for the Blind Site
  • Reading Volunteers: Reading tutors are needed for elementary school kids.
  • Do you like to work with children? Are you experienced in the traditional arts? Do you like to make crafts and play games? The Sandy Spring Museum Education Department is for you! Click here

  • February 12th to pass out literature for Phil Kauffman, candidate for the Board of Education. Shifts needed: 7-9 AM or 5-8 PM.     • August 27, 2007- October 25, 2007 due October 26, 2007
    • October 26, 2007 - January 4, 2008 due January 10, 2008
    • January 5, 2008 to March 20, 2008 due April 1, 2008
    • March 21, 2008- June 4, 2008 due June 6, 2008, for Seniors, May 30, 2008
