Career and Technology Education Pathways

Congratulations!

Sherwood students participated in the Maryland Wooden Bridge Challenge this past weekend at the Baltimore Museum of Industry.
Scott Freeman, Chris Mercado, Alejandro Mantilla and Zhaojie Jiang represented Sherwood in the competition.
Alejandro Mantilla was awarded second place honors, while Zhaojie Jiang captured an undisputed first place.
Both students become eligible to participate in the International Competition to be held at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago in late April. Winner of this competition wins a half scholarship to this institution.
Congratulate these students when you see them. They all represented Sherwood High School to the highest degree of excellence.

Sherwood High School Career Pathways and smaller learning communities offer students rigorous and relevant career-themed programs to link learning with the future. Students explore different college and career themes through career and technology education classes, learning how to apply what they know to real world college and career scenarios.

Each Career Pathway aligns with Career and Technology Education (CTE) career clusters. These clusters are based on the Maryland State Department of Education career clusters and pathways. These clusters are focused on teaching students what they need to know and be able to do in order to graduate fully prepared for further education and careers in the 21st century global economy.
