Guide for Students and Parents
- All Senior Portraits must be taken by October 31, 2008 if you want to be included in the yearbook.
You should receive an appointment time in the mail to be photographed by Lifetouch Studios at Sherwood this summer and fall. You may also go to their studios in Baltimore by appointment only. Males must sit for tuxedo poses and females must sit for drape poses. By contract, the Sherwood yearbook can not accept official portrait photos from any other sources. There is a basic Lifetouch sitting fee charge of $25 (six tuxedo or drape shots). There are additional packages for poses with different outfits which cost extra. If you do not receive an appointment time, or you need to change your appointment time, or you need any additional information, call them at 1-800-445-1189 or visit their website at http://prestigeportraits.com.
Photography dates at Sherwood are: June 11, 12 and 13, August 19, 20, 22, October 8 and 10
A few weeks after being photographed, you will receive your proofs in the mail. If you wish to choose your yearbook pose, you will have to do so by October 31 or it will be chosen for you by the yearbook staff. If you are photographed after this date, you will not be able to choose the pose. All other issues dealing with senior photos should be directed to Lifetouch directly.
- Remember When? Traditionally in the Sherwood yearbook, there is a portion of the senior class section devoted to memories that are unique to each graduating class such as things that have changed over the last four years or funny things that happened at class events, etc. If you want to contribute to this list, you must email your memories to sherwoodyearbook@yahoo.com by October 31 with the term Remember When in the subject title area.
- Order your yearbook early to save money! Online sales from the publisher will be available starting in October at www.buyayearbook.com or by phone at 1-888-298-5063. Buy early, the price goes up as the year goes on and we may run out. Only a certain amount are ordered each year based on pre-sales. Before placing your order, find the order number provided to you by Walsworth Publishers in the mailing you will receive in early fall (the envelope is blue and white) to avoid duplicate orders.
- The Senior Class Picture will be taken as a part of the Senior Breakfast which is preliminarily set for Wednesday, October 15. Order forms will be distributed in a class or homeroom prior to that date. The picture must be paid for and ordered at the time the picture is taken, money will not be collected later.
- Friends and Family Senior Salutation Ads** (see separate sheet) and Business Ads are currently being taken. We will fill up space on a first paid basis as we have limited space available. All ads are in color and are due back no later than Friday, October 31. We may fill pages early so do not wait until the last minute. Ad space may be purchased after the 31st if there is room however additional fees will be charged. Groups of friends or other organized groups such as sports teams and clubs are encouraged to combine funds and purchase larger ads. Photos will be delivered back once the yearbook has been distributed. If you wish the ad to remain a secret, you must mark so on the form and we will try our best to not let your surprise be known.
** Please make a duplicate of your precious baby photos for our use as we cannot guarantee return of your pictures. We will try our best but sometimes things can get lost in production.
