Sherwood Warriors Baseball is hosting a fundraiser starting December 1st through March 1st. The team is looking to sell up to 160 sponsorship seats at Jack Bentley Field. For more details please see click here.

SHS Bocce Coach Christine McKeldin is sponsoring an SHS Polar Bear Plunge team appropriately named “Warrior Pride”. The 2012 Polar Bear Plunge supports the efforts of Special Olympics and essentially MCPS Corollary Bocce and Softball teams. I hope you consider joining or donating to “Warrior Pride”!
Congratulations to the Sherwood polar bear plunge team, Warrior Pride, for raising over $6,000 for the Special Olympics, exceeding their goal of $5000 by a large margin. We are one of the top 10 fundraising schools in the state. 45 Sherwood students will be taking the plunge into the icy waters of the Chesapeake Bay for Frigid Friday, 27 January, 2012.

The Alex Popeck Never Back Down Foundation is hosting a 3-on-3 Valentine’s Day basketball tournament at Farquhar Middle School Feb. 16-19. Teams of all ages form 10 through players in their 50s are welcome. The event is being co-sponsored by Hall of Fame Coach Morgan Wootten, and Joe Wootten will conduct a coaching clinic for all interested players and coaches at the conclusion of play Sunday. The Foundation proceeds fund scholarships for Montgomery County High School seniors as well as other local charities. Visit the Alex Popeck Website for more information and to enter the tournament.
Warrior Athlete Notable Achievements
Congratulations to Fernando Smith-RB, Jake Ryder-K and Richie DiPietro-DB for selection to the All-Met All-County Montgomery County Football 1st team. In addition Fitz Mofor and Josh Yagel were selected for 2nd team honors.
Alex Holston has been selected as the 2011-12 Gatorade State Volleyball Player of the Year!

Sherwood Warriors Girls Volleyball have been honored with All-Gazette Team players to include Alex Holston as Player of the Year, Sydney West on First Team, Megan Hewitt and Maddie Moyer on Second Team and finally, Honorable Mentions for Dominique Parker and Morgan McAlpin.

Anna Kolanowski has been selected to attend a U.S. Swimming Grand Prix event in Texas on the weekend of January 14th. The significance of this meet is that it is a long course meet where she will be attempting to make an Olympic Trial swimming cut. If she makes the cut she is allowed to participate at the U.S. Olympic trials which is a huge accomplishment that very few high school swimmers accomplish in their careers.

Fall Sports tryouts are August 13, 2011.
Winter Sports tryouts are November 15, 2011
Spring Sports tryouts are March 1, 2012
The 2012-2013 Fall Sports begin tryouts/practice on Saturday, August 11, 2012. This information is provided for family summer planning.
All-Regular Season Passes are available for purchase online. Each pass is good for all regular season home Sherwood athletic contests. Prices for All Season pass are $70 for adults; $40 for students; Fall Pass adults: $30; Fall Pass students: $18; Winter Pass adults: $40; Winter Pass students: $24; Spring Pass adults: $20; Spring Pass students: $12. Passes can be purchased through the Online School Store.
