Summer Competition Season

  • Sherwood Poms attended UDA Dance Camp at UMBC over the summer and had a "perfect" ribbon run,
scoring all Blues (superior) for all individual routine performances. This means that each girl received
3 superior ratings apiece. This was the first time in many years for Sherwood. Congratulations!!
  • For their Home Routine, they received top honors with a Superior Rating, as well as a trophy for 2nd place
overall (beating all of the other "straight-up dance teams" except for one -- awesome!).
This 2nd place finish qualified them to attend the Capital One Bowl during College Bowl Season
    in January 2008.
  • In the Drill Down category, the team received 34 total ribbons, with top honors to
    Jen Chiogioji (Sr.) (4 ribbons)
and Ilona Szeless (Fr.) (6 ribbons).
    Captain Deanna Solow (Sr.)
earned an All-Star Award this year, qualifying her to
attend the New Year's Day Parade in Paris. Deanna was also recruited to become
    a UDA Camp Instructor.
  • Sherwood received the "On the Ball" from the staff on their first night at camp. The squad again left camp with
a "Superior Squad" rating and trophy. This qualifies Sherwood Poms to attend the
    National Dance Team Championships
at Walt Disney World in Orlando in February 2008.
  • Samantha Felice (Jr.) won the "Camper of the Week award.
