Sherwood Academy of Arts and Humanities

The Academy of Arts and Humanities is a small learning community in which students take rigorous classes to learn the knowledge and skills to better prepare them for a post-secondary educational experience focusing on a particular area of interest in one of four areas:

Pathway: Early Child Development (*CTE Program)

A: Required Courses:

  • Child & Adolescent Development 1A/1B
  • Child & Adolescent Development 2A/2B
  • Child & Adolescent Development 3A/3B

B: Capstone: Choose one of the following:

  • Child & Adolescent Development Internship
  • Psychology, Advanced Placement A/B

Pathway: Print and/or Broadcast Media

A: Required Courses—must complete at least three credits from the following:

  • TV Production A/B*
  • Radio Production 1 A/B
  • Electronic Audio Field Production (Radio Production 2) A/B
  • Radio Station Management & Operations (Radio Production 3) A/B
  • Yearbook A/B*
  • Journalism A/B (prerequisite to Newspaper)
  • Newspaper A/B* *Denotes repeatable course

B: Capstone experience

Pathway: Visual/Performing Arts

  • Chorus 2(entry level for 10th – 12th)
