Special February 2010 Meeting
The February 9, 2010 PTA meeting will take place at Redland Middle School. Redland Middle School PTA is sponsoring a great presentation/discussion regarding "teen drug use and drug access" in the Montgomery County area. Jacque Croom, PTA President at Sequoyah Elementary School (feeder to Magruder) will present the information. He is uniquely qualified to offer us this information due to his experience as a Lieutenant in the Montgomery County Department of Police. Lieutenant Croom travels to schools and various organizations to update parents on the current state of drug use and access to Montgomery County students. This is an adults only presentation, please. Please don't miss this opportunity!

Become a Volunteer - SGMS PTA needs volunteers to help with a variety of activities, such as homework club, staff appreciation, book fair, spirit events, and much more. You can help out before, during or after school hours, once a week, once a month, or even once a year. There are so many volunteer activities that can fit into your schedule. Upcoming Events - Sweetz Cheescake Fundraiser
Sweetz Cheesecakes are available in many fine restaurants and hotel dining rooms as well as at their retail location. The cakes you sell are the same products in special fund raising sizes. Cakes keep for several months in the freezer, so encourage customers to order now
for spring holidays and order extras for dessert on special occasions later on.

Order: February 3 - March 1, 2010
Delivery: March 23, 2010

PTA News - Spirit night at Barnes & Noble & Hamburger Hamlet was a big success. We earned $108.00 from Barnes & Noble, and $65 from Hamburger Hamlet. The next spirit night will be at Outta the Way Café, date TBA.
