Chesapeake Bay Newsletters
Each year Mr. Johnson’s 4th grade students study the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem. As a culminating project, his students research animals of the Chesapeake. This unit is a joint effort with Mr. Johnson and the Media Specialist, Diane Haser. Students are taught the AGOPPE RESEARCH MODEL and learn how to use various online resources, along with print materials for their research. All research takes place in school, using the media center and the computer lab. A graphic organizer is used for gathering all their information. Students work in pairs to publish newsletters about their animals, using the program, Microsoft Publisher.
