At Seneca Valley, our students, staff and administrators are recognized for a variety of accomplishments by the Renaissance Committee.
QUARTERLY SCHOOL-WIDE AWARDS
- Students are recognized for straight A's and most improved.
- Students vote for teacher of the quarter - for best support, strategies and practices.
- Teachers vote for the class that demonstrates the best academics, effort and behavior.
- Teachers vote for administrator of the quarter - for listening, advising and problem-solving.
9th GRADE ACADEMY INCENTIVES
9th graders earn awards based on their attendance, behavior and academic achievement.
9th-11th GRADE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS
Separate assemblies for each grade are held in May to recognize students for honor roll, leadership, scholarships, community/association awards and other accomplishments.
SENIOR ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS
An array of achievement awards is presented to students during an assembly in May. Some of the awards for which students may be eligible include the above-mentioned, plus:
Seneca Valley Outstanding Academics and Citizenship Award
The recipient of this high honor should have a minimum GPA of 3.5 unweighted. His/her transcript should reflect academic rigor as evidenced by having successfully completed at least 2 AP or college level courses during his/her career at Seneca Valley. In addition, this candidate should have a minimum of 100 Student Service Learning Hours.
Seneca Valley Outstanding Service and Leadership Award
The recipient of this high honor should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 unweighted. His/her "resume" should include membership in at least 2 SVHS organizations where there was evidence of leadership. In addition, this candidate should have earned a minimum of 150 Student Service Learning Hours.
The Eagle Award
This exceptional honor is awarded to a graduating senior who has signified excellence in all aspects of life throughout his/her four years at Seneca Valley High School. The student awarded this honor is one who is viewed as an integral part of the Seneca Valley High School Community and has continually demonstrated our core values of respect, responsibility and honesty.
The recipient of this high honor should have a minimum GPA of 3.5 unweighted. His/her transcript should reflect academic rigor as evidenced by having successfully completed at least 2 AP or College level courses during his/her career at Seneca Valley. This candidate should have a minimum of 150 SSL hours and have participated in more than 2 extracurricular activities which provide direct service to Seneca Valley. Finally, this candidate must be an individual who has continually demonstrated integrity as well as respect to his peers and adults.
