Rosa Parks Middle School

The RPMS Green Team & Junior Green Team would like to thank all staff and students in their efforts to be good stewards of the environment.  Due to everyone’s efforts and diligence, RPMS is demonstrating a tremendous reduction in school energy usage.  Our school saved over 20% (we basically used 20 less energy )for the 4^th quarter measurement and a whopping 35% less energy for the month of August (this is by far the highest we have ever saved for the month of August).   The baseline (red line on the graph) is the energy MCPS allots for our school each month. This number is based on the number of students and staff at each school.  Our “Green Goal” is to stay below that line-which indicates our savings.  The smaller (shorter) the bar graph is under the baseline the less energy we used indicating a higher savings.  As you can see we were below the line the majority of the school year-  Yeah!!!!!  The Green Team has many things planned for the 09/10 school year in our energy conservation and recycling efforts.  We will continue our hard work and even go lower!
