Biography
Olivia K. Bailey
I am the 7B team leader. I am a native of New Jersey (The Garden State) who has found a home in Maryland. I am a graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (BS), Bowie State University (MA), and Towson University (Admin I).I am currently a doctoral student at Morgan State University seeking a degree in Urban Educational Leadership. I enjoy reading and visiting the wonderful museums in the area.
Kim St. John
I grew up in Damascus, MD and have wanted to be a teacher since the fourth grade.I graduated from Washington College with a degree in history, a minor in art history and certification in secondary education. I love to read, hike/bike, act and play music.
 
David K. Hamrick
I have a Master's degree in education from Loyola College and a BSBA degree from Applachian State University with a major in economics and banking and a minor in finance. My wife is a third grade teacher at Little Bennett Elementary School. I have two children: Jacob, 8 years and Emma, 6 years. My hobbies include attending NCSU Wolfpack sporting events and trying to beat my father on the golf course, which seldom happens.  
George Mitchell
I came to RPMS from Anne Arundel County Public Schools, where I taught mathematics at the alternative high school. I have been a university administrator and teacher as well as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer. I've had assignments in Nigeria and Canada. I have studied at Ohio University and Harvard's Kennedy School of Government before earning my doctorate in international relations at the University of Southern California. I live in Ellicott City with my wife Agneta, a psychologist and native of Sweden; son Andreas, who attends Centennial HS; and daughter Anna, a fourth-grader at Centennial ES. I enjoy reading history and theory, writing poetry, learning to use information technology, playing basketball and playing the alto saxophone.  
Mary Ellen Sturm
I have just celebrated my twenty-seventh year of teaching in MCPS. I attended Frostburg State University, obtaining a B.A. in geography education and social studies certification. I earned a Master's Equivalency from Montgomery County Public Schools Planned In-Service and in 2003 became nationally certified in early adolescence, social studies and history. I currently serve as the 7A team leader and seventh grade social studies teacher. Also, I serve as the social studies resource teacher. I live in Columbia, Maryland with my husband, two children; Katie and Nate, three ferrets, and two Yorkshire terriers.
Jason Volz
This is my fourth year of teaching at Rosa Parks MS and my 8th year total. I was born and reared in Queens, NY and moved to Maryland in 2004 to teach in MCPS. I attended and graduated from McDaniel College in 1998 with my undergrad degree and began my graduate degree a year later. I obtained my Master's Degree from McDaniel College in 2001. As well as teaching at RPMS, I also coach softball and run numerous intramural programs. During the summer I an the coordinator for the extended year program.
