Extra Activities Fee Collection Procedures for Montgomery County Public Schools:
There is a yearly extracurricular sliding fee which covers all extracurricular activities in middle and high schools..
Students who participate in any extracurricular activity (defined as any activity for which there is an adult supervising students beyond the instructional day in a school-sponsored activity such as a sport, intramural activity, club, band, etc.) are subject to the fee.
One fee payment covers all a student's activities for the year.
Students who take a course that requires participation in an after-school acitivity do not pay the fee.
The sliding fee is based on income as follows: (Documentary proof of eligibility such as a copy of a current 1040 form, W-2 form, wage statement, etc., is required for reduced fees):
- If household income is more than $29,000, the fee is $20.
- If household income is more than $19,000, the fee is $10
- If household income is more than $19,000, the fee is $5.
The fee is paid entirely to MCPS (not to the school) and is sent along with a form that can be found in the guidance office at RHS to:

Division of Controller/ECA
850 Hungerford Drive, Dept. ECA
Rockville, MD 20850

There will be no refunds.
Participation lists will be kept on the mainframe student database. the participation lists will be available to principals, who will provide copies of the lists to appropriate sponsors.

Academic Eligibility for After-School Activities and Athletics:
Students must meet the minimum standard of 2.0 for the previous marking period with not more than one failing grade to be eligible. A student who is ineligible may only stay after school for homework club or tutoring. After-school privileges may be lost at any time for students with behavioral problems or excessive referrals to the office.
