The Asian Club is a student
activity designed for Asian-background students to recognize and
celebrate their own unique cultures in Rockville High School. The
purpose of this activity stands twofold. First, it allows the students
to identify and represent their own unique cultures in the diversified
student body. The club also openly invites students with non-Asian
cultural/ethnic backgrounds to join and learn together cultural
activities ranging from aesthetic to ethnic cuisine’s, such
as: oriental fan dance, martial arts, calligraphy, and food, etc.
This year, the club is planning to take on the community services in partnership
with the city of Rockville. This will allow its students to get involved in activities
throughout the community. Visitation program is one example. This service, not
only satisfies students’ graduation requirement, but also will allow them
to learn to become better citizens. The Asian Club offer services for the members
to grow with meaningful experiences both in academic settings and non-academic
settings.
