About Us
Our school prepares students for independent living, integrated employment, and participation in the community using the Fundamental Life Skills Curriculum and MCPS program of studies. Rock Terrace students work toward graduation with a Maryland Certificate. The goal of the program is to develop independent citizens who contribute to our society to the fullest extent possible which will have the experience and confidence needed to succeed in today's job market.
Rock Terrace School serves ages 12 through 21 that may include specific learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, speech and language disorders, emotional impairment, or other health impaired and mental retardation. Students are referred to Rock Terrace School through the Central Individualized Education Program (CIEP) committee. Additional students come from our feeder school, Carl Sandburg Learning Center.
