Principal's Welcome

ReCatherinecently, one of our kindergarten students asked me if it was fun to be a principal.  The teacher quickly suggested, “Why don’t you ask her a specific question?  Ask her what she likes best about being a principal.”  Well, I have to share … it’s easy to answer the first question.  Yes, it’s a lot of fun to be a principal.  However, it’s rather difficult to answer the second question.  In my years at Rock Creek Valley ES, I have often shared how lucky I feel to be part of such a wonderful learning community and there are far too many things that I like about this school to possibly come up with just one thing that I like best about being a principal here at RCV.  To welcome you to our new webpage and school, let me tell you a few of the things that make our school such a special place and make my job so fun!
We have the whole continuum of early childhood and elementary education at RCV, from our infant & toddlers program to our fifth grade classes;  We celebrate student differences, talents, and interests within a diverse student population; Along with other schools in the Rockville Cluster, we have Deaf / Hard of Hearing Program which is integrated into our total school program; Our PEACE Program has been in place for many years and serves as a strong foundation for promoting Pro-social skills, positive peer relationships, and independent learning skills in all our students; The staff at RCV is committed to building strong relationships with all our students and families to ensure that each child is provided with the individualize instructional program that will allow them to achieve at the very highest levels; and Our community of families is welcoming and supportive to all our children, staff, and families.
We hope that you get to know us better through this webpage and future involvement with our school.  Welcome to the truly special learning environment of Rock Creek Valley ES.
