    Girls Basketball Try-outs start Saturday Nov. 14th at 8am. Any girl interested in trying out needs to get all paper work turned in to Ms. Hackey before the 14th.

It is not too late to sign up for NaNoWriMo. If you like creative writing and always thought you wanted to write a book, come join your fellow PHS authors-to-be. Come to the MacLab today after school to sign up and receive all necessary information. See Ms. Kellert, if you cannot attend.

The holidays are quickly approaching! What better time to remind your parents that a yearbook would quite possibly be the greatest present you can receive? Yearbooks are for sale every Thursday at lunch at the senior bench, or you can turn your money in any time to Miss Loughney. Books are selling unusually fast this year, so secure your book before they are sold out.   11/5/09

Tomorrow Mary Washington University and Hofstra will be visiting PHS for anyone who is interested in learn more about these schools.

If you’re interested in trying out for winter JV cheerleading please stop by room 20 during lunch tomorrow to pick up forms and meet some of our JV cheerleaders.

There will be an SGA General Assembly meeting 4th period tomorrow in the auditorium. All SGA officers, Class officers and 2nd period representatives and alternates are expected to attend. Please check in with your 4th period teacher then report to the auditorium at the beginning of lunch.

Attention students there will be a wrestling meeting today during lunch in the main gym for anyone who is interested in being a part of the wrestling team.

The walking club will not meet today.

Pam Armstrong will be visiting Poolesville High School during lunch today. She will be talking about a mathematical modeling technique called Linear Programming. She will be discussing the general types of problems solved by linear programming and the career options possible. Please come to the auditorium during lunch if you're interested.   10/29/09

Tuesday at lunch in the Falcon Foyer you can sign up to be apart of the senior panoramic shirts. All class and SGA officers have first priority. The rest of the shirts are on a first come first serve basis. We will be there at the beginning of lunch so get there quickly! Shirts are 10 dollars and you need to have your 10 dollars the day you sign up! No money no shirt. See you Tuesday!

This Wednesday Stevenson, Shepherd, University of Chicago and York College will all be visiting PHS. On Thursday Mary Washington University and Hofstra will be visiting.

There will be a representative from the United States Marine Corps in the cafeteria during lunch today. Any student interested in learning about this branch of military service should stop by and speak with the recruiter.

Now that the summer weather has come to an end, what better way to relive those hot summer days than by looking through your photos? While you're at it, submit them to the yearbook! The yearbook needs you! Please submit any summer photos you have to poolesvilleyearbook@yahoo.com. Only one week left to submit!

There will be a JV Winter cheerleading tryouts clinic on Nov 16 and 17th. The actual tryouts will take place on the 18th. Necessary forms can be picked up in the office. All forms including a current physical are required in order to try out.

Thursday brings Allegheny College and on Friday Kent State University. Juniors and Seniors are invited to these presentations with permission from their teacher. Please check the lists posted in English Classes or outside Guidance and the Career Center for the locations of these visits.

Volunteers are needed at the Smith Center for "Yoke Day" on November 7th from 8am to 12 noon helping with mulching, painting, moving wood and other exciting things. Please see Ms. Grubb or the flyer on the SSL Bulletin board outside of room 19.

Any girl interested in playing basketball and did not pick up paper work, please see Ms. Hackey. Any girl with a completed paper needs to turn it into Ms. Hackey.

There will be an initial meeting of the Webmasters Club on Monday, October 19th, at 3:20 in Room 14. All students who are interested in web design are welcome to attend. The club will end in time to ride the 4:10 busses. If you are interested and cannot attend on Monday, email Mrs. Dresser (on the PHS website)

There’s no school tomorrow! And what’s a good way to celebrate tonight? Come to the Gaithersburg Cici’s to eat and hang out with friends. For only $5 you can get a full buffet of pizza, pasta and desserts. Come support the Poolesville Robotics Team, tonight at the Gaithersburg Cici’s from 5:30 to 9:30. And be sure to drop your receipt in the box there.

Make-up pictures are today in the auditorium. Stop by in between classes, during a free period, or during lunch. Photographers will be here until 2PM. If you need an order form, please stop by the main office and pick one up!
