The PHS Varsity Cheerleaders are inviting all PHS Students and Staff to come and support us, tomorrow 1:00pm at Montgomery Blair High for our Cheer Competition. Tickets are on sale at lunch today in the senior hall.
The freshmen Humanities students are hosting a Gallery Night to display their photo essays today at the Old Town Hall in Poolesville. Please join us from 7-9 to celebrate. Refreshments and entertainment will be provided.
The Poolesville Midnight Players are showing The Admirable Crichton (Kri-ton) today and Saturday. Show times are 7:30 on Friday, and 2:00 and 7:30 on Saturday. Tickets are on sale at the box office in the foyer during lunch, after school, and at the door of the show. Come support the drama department!
The Special Elections Committee needs your help! This is a county-wide committee that facilitates the Student Member on the Board of Education elections and a great way to get SSL hours. There will be a meeting tonight at the Carver Educational Service Center at 7 to 8:30p.m., if you are interested please contact Lissette Escobar or sign up in room 54.
It’s Toys for Tots time. The SGA is collecting gifts for all age kids. Please do not wrap the items. All items should be around a $10 value. The Marine Corp and the SGA thanks you in advance for your support of the community.

ALL juniors are invited to go to DC December 18, 2009 to see the Terra Cotta Warriors from Imperial China. Field trip forms are available from World History teachers and are due back to them by December 4.

Attention all girls interested in playing lacrosse in the spring. Winter workouts will be Tuesday and Thursdays right after school at the track. We will be doing wall ball after running so bring your sticks. This workout is open to all lady falcons.

JV cheer tryout clinics will be held Mon the 16th and Tues the 17th at JPMS auxiliary gym from 3:30 to 5:30pm. Please bring all necessary forms on Monday in order to participate in the clinics.
The next LEO Club meeting will be held at 11:00 on today in Ms. Gomer's room, #57.

The PHS Music Boosters present...our Italian Dinner Night! On Saturday, Nov. 21st the PHS Music Boosters will offer an Italian Dinner featuring pasta, side dishes, dessert and drinks for only $10.00 per person. There will be two seatings; one at 4:00 and one at 6:00 pm, in an effort to coordinate with the PHS Midnight Player's production of The Admirable Crighton. The dinner will be served in the PHS cafeteria and will feature entertainment provided by the PHS music department students. Tickets are available in the Falcon Foyer at lunch and after school Monday the 16th through Friday the 19th and on line at..... dipt@juno.com.

A reminder to all students interested in competing in Indoor Track and Field. All paperwork is due by today. You can meet Coach Trumbull in the Old Gym at lunch.
Attention ALL students and staff,
Today is the deadline for submitting orders for Thanksgiving desserts from the Cheesecake Factory. Go to the PHS Homepage and click on the link on the Notice Board on the right side of the page for order forms. Orders can be placed via email, post-mail, or fax. Desserts are to be picked up at the Barnes & Noble Rio during our bookfair November 22.
PHS will receive back a portion of the proceeds, so the more people order, the more money we make!!
Guest speaker, Emily Kim will be coming to Poolesville to discuss "Cultural Considerations Facing Asian Students" on today during lunch in room 17. Please see Ms. Pavlik in the counseling office if you are interested in attending.

The holidays are quickly approaching! What better time to remind your parents that a yearbook would quite possibly be the greatest present you can receive? Yearbooks are for sale every Thursday at lunch at the senior bench, or you can turn your money in any time to Miss Loughney. Books are selling unusually fast this year, so secure your book before they are sold out.

Seniors, don’t forget the senior panoramic picture will be taken tomorrow at 10:30AM. Please report to 4th period and then move to the stadium. In case of rain, listen for announcements. Order forms will be available through your English class.
Tomorrow Mary Washington University and Hofstra will be visiting PHS for anyone who is interested in learn more about these schools.
If you’re interested in trying out for winter JV cheerleading please stop by room 20 during lunch tomorrow to pick up forms and meet some of our JV cheerleaders.
There will be an SGA General Assembly meeting 4th period tomorrow in the auditorium. All SGA officers, Class officers and 2nd period representatives and alternates are expected to attend. Please check in with your 4th period teacher then report to the auditorium at the beginning of lunch.
Attention students there will be a wrestling meeting today during lunch in the main gym for anyone who is interested in being a part of the wrestling team.
The walking club will not meet today.
Pam Armstrong will be visiting Poolesville High School during lunch today. She will be talking about a mathematical modeling technique called Linear Programming. She will be discussing the general types of problems solved by linear programming and the career options possible. Please come to the auditorium during lunch if you're interested.
