The John Poole Middle School Counseling Team uses collaboration and education to equip students with skills that enhance knowledge of strengths in the areas of social, emotional, academics, and career growth.

Please call your child's counselor with any questions about scheduling, student service learning, concerns about your child, changes in your family, registration questions, career and high school planning or anything else with which you have concerns.

Counseling programs include: Small groups, Lunch bunches, character education, career activities, red flags, red ribbon week, and more.

The JPMS counseling department is supported by the School Counseling Advisory Committee (SCAC) The SCAC is a group of parents and students who meet with the counseling department once a month to discuss all upcoming events and activities. This committee helps to plan and evaluate the activities operated through the counseling department.

Students are assigned to counselors by grade level. Counselors are available to meet with students regarding personal or school-related concerns and confidentiality will be respected.

  • Students can arrange an appointment with their counselor through the counseling office.
  • Students may arrange appointments at designated times.
  • Students should have a pass before going to the counseling office.
