Counseling Program Overview

Parkland Magnet Middle School’s counseling department will deliver a structured, comprehensive counseling program that supports the school goals through effective communication. By removing barriers, we will provide all students with equal opportunity for success program at focuses on the rapidly changing needs of adolescents. These needs can affect every aspect of the young person's life.

As students in grades 6-8 work to form an identity, counselors help them to balance these needs within the school setting. The counseling department stresses development in three major areas: academic achievement,career and decision- making, and personal/social development.

Bullying Tips and Resources

One of the major focuses of the counseling department is to reduce bullying. We also educate and empower our students to become allies instead of bystanders. We also this by being more proactive than reactive with bullying.

This is a form to report alleged bullying, harassment, or intimidation that occurred on school property; at a school-sponsored activity or event off school property; on a school bus; or on the way to and/or from school, in the current school year.

Counseling/Mental Health Resources

Linkages to Learning- is a program at Parkland Magnet Middle School that assists students and their families with services to help children be successful in school, at home and in the community. Services include mental health, social services and educational support.Click herefor more information.
