Below are the Daily Announcements that were part of the morning television show on our school television station WPBH Channel 19.  These announcements are usually posted by 9:00 am daily,  when school is in session.

Good morning Paint Branch.  Today is Friday, November 21, 2008. I’m Caitlin Clem, and I’m Jared Adkins.  Welcome back to another edition of Freestyle Friday.

The Chess Club will meet today in room A113 during LAP.

The Paint Branch Gay / Straight Alliance will meet today during LAP in room H007. All staff and students are welcome to attend. Please see either Mr. Goldsmith or Shamus Kelly for more information.

Operation Christmas Child is a way to send a shoe box filled with gifts to a child who otherwise would not receive any this Christmas. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be sending shoeboxes with gifts to children. We are collecting school supplies, toys and hygiene items (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap) and sending them to children in need . If interested in helping please bring collected items to Mr. Smith on room HO25 starting today up till Wednesday November 20th. For more information see Mr. Smith.

Attention all Operation Smile Members! T-shirt orders are due by the end of this month. Please stop by Mr. Miller's room in room H022 to pick up an order form or to turn yours in.

Anime Club will meet today at 2:30 pm in room H138. Please remember to bring your anime. We will be planning our holiday party, so bring your ideas too!

The Paint Branch PTSA is sponsoring a Practice SAT test and a Practice ACT test for students. The Practice SAT is tomorrow at 8:00 am. The Practice ACT is scheduled for Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 8:00 am. The cost to register for both tests is $10.00. Interested students should get a registration form from the main office.

Join us today in the Panther Paw for a great lunch:  Ratatouille with grilled Polenta, Chicken & Spinach Lasagna, Nantucket Cranberry Pie and Citrus Chiffon Cake. Our Top Chefs are at the stove!!!

Attention PB Idol participants:  If you submitted your Act Registration Form, please check the door in front of room C109 Ms. Mitchell's room to see the date of your audition. Audition time will be held during LAP in room C109.

Mrs. Baber's and Mr. Eichenlaub's interns are to meet on Friday in the Media Center during internship time.

Good morning Paint Branch. Today is Thursday November 20, 2008.  I’m Jared Adkins, and I’m Caitlin Clem, and these are your EPIC morning announcements.

Attention Lit Mag members -- There will be a meeting today during LAP in the journalism office. The meeting will start at the beginning of LAP. Please be prompt.

Attention Equestrian Club members -- There will be a brief meeting to discuss fundraisers and ordering jackets. We will meet today in room H127 during LAP.

There will be an Anime Club meeting tomorrow after school! Be there at 2:30 pm in room H138! Bring your anime and Christmas Party ideas. Contact Mrs. Davis or Julian Lantry for more information.

The Panther Paw will be open tomorrow for lunch. We're cooking up Chicken Lasagna, Ratatouille and Citrus Chiffon Cake. Yum-yum.

Do you love to read? The first meeting of the PB Treasures Book Club will be at LAP, Tuesday, November 25, 2008 in the Career Center with Mrs. Murphy and Mrs. Adkins. We will have a selection of books to swap and to recommend. Bring some of your own to add to the pile and to recommend if you like. These are free, no strings - just enjoy!

The National English Honors Society is now conducting its annual membership drive. If you are an outstanding English Scholar, you wish to be recognized for your skill and you wish to share your talent with others please apply. Applications packets can be found in the English Office, room A115. All applications are due by Dec.12.

Attention Seniors! This is your last chance to order a Senior T-Shirt or hoodie now thru next Wednesday. Order forms can be picked up outside of room C109. A minimum of 36 will be required to print. See Mrs. Mitchell if you have questions.

Don't miss your chance to see the fall play, Summer Brave. A special student matinee is being held TODAY at 2:30 pm. You can buy your tickets at the door--just $5.00 for this amazing show! Tickets will be on sale during LAP in the box office. You can also pick them up before the show.

Good morning Paint Branch. Today is Wednesday, November 19, 2008.  I’m Dazhon Darien. We as American’s are afforded the right to bear arms by the constitution. This right has spurred a battle over gun control. Guns…right or wrong? This is PB Point.

Joining us today to talk about gun control are Mr. White, Mr McCamon, Brian Jacobs and Brian Leiter. Thank you all for joining us.

1) Should guns be limited to hunting only? Why or why not?
2) Do you think that military personnel that are not active should be aloud to carry loaded weapons?
3) Approaching the anniversary of Shawn Taylor’s death, do you think that we should ban personal firearms nationally? Why or why not?

Do you enjoy writing? Do you enjoy creating art? If so please come out and join the Lit Mag. There will be a meeting on Thursday in room A101. We will be creating teasers for the magazine.

Attention All Seniors who applied to the Social Studies Honors Society - There is a mandatory meeting TODAY in room H023 at LAP If you cannot attend-you must SEE MS BLAKELY- all requirements, applications and letters of recommendation are due that day! There will be no extensions!

Spanish Club will meet in room H130 at the beginning of lunch of Tuesday. We will be tutoring every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday that would be great!

Just a reminder that all of you readers need to keep up on your "Readers Make Leaders" list. Stop by the Media Center and find out what you need.

Our State Champion NJROTC Air Rifle Team, led by Team Captain Casey McGrath, brought home the huge Runner-Up trophy in the Capital Class Tournament held at Annapolis High School. Top shooter was Ho Young Kang who shot very well in the standing, kneeling and prone positions. The Panther Marksmen are well on their way to defending their Junior Olympics Maryland State Championship and a top ten national ranking.

Project Wisdom is a national program designed to help students build character. Over the course of the next few weeks we will be bringing you inspirational messages from the staff. Our first one from Ms. Hardin is about children’s rights. Let’s take a look.
