Montgomery County Public Schools, Rockville, Maryland - Olney Elementary School

Educational Facilities Officer

Officer Brett Mavritte is the EFO for OES

The EFO Program is a partnership between the Montgomery County Department of Police(MCPD) and Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). It is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice under the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) in Schools program. The grant provides funds to hire 32 sworn, uniformed police officers to serve as liaisons between the MCPD and all of the public and private schools in Montgomery County. All EFOs attend training sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice and additional orientation and training sessions conducted by MCPS and MCPD. The program began with 12 EFOs for the 2003-2004 school year. It is anticipated that full implementation of the program with a total complement of 32 EFOs will be completed by January 2005.
