Chess Club 
Olney's Dragon Chess Club is a great way for students to learn about strategic problem solving. They learn how to think ahead and develop self-discipline and confidence. This year the club is open to students in 1st through 5th grade. The chess club is less formal and focuses on the enjoyment of learning and playing chess. This year the club will start meeting in December. You do not have to know how to play in order to join the club.
We hope to have the students from Rosa Parks MS serve as tutors for the chess club members again. They help them with various moves and strategies during the sessions. Weekly sessions feature an hour of hands on play. During week 5 we'll have advanced lessons and the last two meetings will include an in-house tournament.
