“Improving Teaching and Learning”

The mission of the Office of Staff Development is the development of a leaderful, self-renewing organization focused on achieving the Success For Every Student goals by strengthening the knowledge, skills, practices and beliefs of Montgomery County Public Schools' staff and stakeholders.

Mrs. Sharon Teske is the Staff Development Teacher. In this position she acts as a resource for teachers to expand their repertoire of skills, models lessons using new strategies, and especially supports new teachers. She assists teachers in gathering resources, analyzing data in planning their curriculum and implementing new strategies within the context of the MCPS curriculum, and the Maryland State Content Standards. She works with teachers in developing and achieving their professional development goals.

Sharon is an integral member of the Instructional Council, the team that plans well-aligned, school-wide goals for the measurable achievement of our students and staff. With her knowledge and facilitating skills we are initiating the Baldrige Education Framework to promote continuous school improvement.

“True professional growth is the acquiring of both professional attitudes and skills – and moving to new levels of performance not experienced before.”
