Baldrige at OES

Paving the Way For Continuous Improvement

OES became a Baldrige school in 2003-2004, that is, we adopted the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence as our model for continuous improvement.

“Baldrige is a self assessment process that focuses on student achievement results. It also focuses on other results that impact student achievement such as student, teacher, and parent satisfaction; key learning processes; leadership; planning; and data collection and analysis.” This model emphasizes building effective and efficient processes to support what schools and individual classrooms need to do.

IN A NUTSHELL: The Baldrige Model for continuous improvement:

  • Involves all stakeholders in student achievement

  • Uses quality tools to analyze and plan for improvement

  • Makes students accountable for their own learning
