Ms. Leitzel-Reading
I have been an Oak View Dragon for many years now and love being a part of this wonderful school! Over the years I have taught 3rd grade, 4th grade and the advanced reading program for 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. I have a family of my own and my husband even taught PE at NHE years ago! My 2 children love to come and visit Oak View, so you might meet them at an evening event. I have two dogs and 4 hermit crabs; stop by and I will share their names with you. |

I am a big sister. I have one sister and one brother that also work at elementary schools in Montgomery County!! I have a special pet dog named Dino; he is huge! I also have 6 fish. I enjoy singing, dancing, and doing fun activities with family and friends. I can’t wait to get to know all of the students and staff at Oak View. Stop by and say,'Hi'. I love to chat! |
Ms. Baxter-Primary Talent Developer
My name is Debra Baxter and I’m the Primary Talent Development Coach at Oak View and New Hampshire Estates Elementary Schools. I will be working with students in kindergarten and third grade this year to provide opportunities for all children to develop their full potential. Prior to this new role, I was a classroom teacher for 11 years in MCPS. I’ve taught second grade at Montgomery Knolls Elementary School and third grade at Rock View Elementary School. I have also taught first grade in Cape Town, South Africa. What an amazing experience! I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education and Master’s/Certification Reading Specialist from the University of Maryland/ College Park. Go Terps! I love spending time with loved ones, traveling, reading, and the Washington Redskins! I’m looking forward to a great school year! :)
