Dragon Notes Nov.22 - Girls-on-the-Run - @9a.m. (Posted on 11/19/09) Details about Sunday's 9:00 Girls on the Run 5K: Meeting time: The location is next to Pacers, a running store on Fenton Ave. You can either meet us at New Hampshire Estates Elementary (our primary school for those of you not on Oak View's staff), at which point we will be leaving no later than 7:50 to drive to the race. Or, you can also meet us at the gathering spot on Roeder Road by 8:15--look for the Oak View sign. Registration/Packet Pick-up: If you have not registered yet (yikes!), you can go online through Friday afternoon for $25, or race day registration is $30. Anybody who registered after the week of October 15 is not guaranteed a shirt, so you want to make sure you get to the race in plenty of time to get one--they are long sleeved this time! Packets can also be picked up at Pacers on Saturday from 10-12 and 2-4, or on Sunday starting at 7:30. Location: The race will start and end at Pacers Running Store in Silver Spring at 8535 Fenton Street. Free parking is available in the garage located on Roeder Road--you will have to enter Roeder from Fenton to avoid road closures. Directions: From the beltway, take the Colesville Road/Rt 29 South exit. Follow Colesville to Fenton Street and take a left. Parking can be found in the garage on Roeder (first left on Fenton) or on Elsworth (a right off Fenton and another garage is on the left). Pre-pay for your portrait package on picture day with the order form/envelope handed out at school Or 2. Place your order after the fact with a proof. Anyone that doesn’t order on portrait day will receive a proof of the portrait that was taken. You can either place an order online with the supplied password or mail in an order. No proofs will be sent home from portraits taken on make-up day. Benefits to Option #1 include: -Choice of background color (available at most schools, see order form) -Quicker portrait package delivery and no shipping charges (packages will be sent to the school about 2-3 weeks after picture day – online or mail in orders incur a shipping charge and are sent directly to students’ homes) -Discount on additional purchase of portraits -100% satisfaction guarantee
