ESOL
Ms. Green
My name is Dale Green and I am teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages at Oak View. I've been teaching since 1999. I previously taught first grade. I am originally from Brooklyn, New York. The University of Maryland brought me out here. I majored in Film and Sociology, and then got a master's degree in education at Johns Hopkins. I like to read and travel, and I love to dance. I also love working with children because they keep me smiling and in touch with the important things in life. |

I am very happy to join the Oak View Dragons after being a Cheetah for many years. I was born in LaPaz, Bolivia, and came to the Washington area as a non-English speaking six year old. Essentially, I was an ESOL kid before they had ESOL teachers, which is probably why I became an ESOL teacher. I am a graduate of Mt. Vernon college, and have done graduate work at both UMBC and Trinity college in bilingual education. I have taught in a METS classroom for over 20 years, and I really enjoy working with kids that need to learn the language and so much more. I live in Rockville with my husband, my son, who is a photography student, and 3 dogs and a cat. And a turtle, too. My daughter is married and lives in DC. I love spending time outside and I really love to read. When I can I like to travel to new places. Estoy muy feliz de estar en esta linda escuela! |

I graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.A in English and a Master’s degree in Education. I am currently pursuing a second Master’s in Reading at Loyola University of Maryland. I enjoy being active and hope to visit all the U.S National Parks in my lifetime. I am passionate about teaching and learning and hope to continue both for many years to come.
