Chess Tournament 2008

Our first Chess Tournament took place this year at the end of January at Oak View ES .  This friendly match was followed by a pizza social.  The Chess Clubs at OV and Broadacres have received a state grant for school year 07/08.  This grant has afforded us the opportunity to introduce many more students to the wonderful game of chess.  Ms. Curran, Ms. Portillo, and Mr. Spon facilitate our weekly club which is serving 35 students this year.  Each student has received their own personal chess set and plans are made for participation in future chess tournaments.  Go OV Chess Dragons!!!
