Stormy Scenes
Ms. Leckie's Kindergarten students created stormy scenes. They first painted the background using tempura paints, using a dark pallette to illustrate a stormy sky. The brighter colors of the grass and flowers contrast with the sky. Students then created self-portraits in crayon, paying special attention to more realistic drawings with narrow arms, legs, and neck and a narrow handle for the umbrella. Students carefully cut out the portraits, then glued them onto the stormy scenes.
