Circle Graph
Students in Ms. Lyons' class came up with a survey question, surveyed the class, and then used the Graph Master program to record their data and to create graphs. Students created a bar graph and a circle graph showing the same data. Students start making and interpreting bar graphs in first grade. Relating a bar graph with a circle graph is a much more advanced skill. Ms. Lyons' students show the percentages of each category in their circle graphs. Students must consider which representation is better in a given situation, and the graphing programs allow students to see data displayed in different ways.
