converting capacity

Students in Ms. Shuster's class use a geoboard to convert between customary capacity units. The entire geoboard represents one gallon. Students then partition the geoboard to explore the relationship between gallons, quarts, pints and cups. The student work here shows that 4 quarts = 1 gallon; 8 pints = 1 gallon and 16 cups = 1 gallon.
