Classes in third grade keep track of students' progress in learning basic facts for multiplication. The "Pie Charts" are great motivators for students to learn their facts. Students learn their facts at different rates, as can be seen in the charts above. In third grade, the State of Maryland expectation and the Montgomery County expectation is that students master the easier tables: o, 1, 2, 5 and 10. In fourth grade the students are expected to have mastered all of their facts. Many of these students are getting a jump on the fourth grade tables!
