Students read the book Spaghetti and Meatballs for All by Marilyn Burns. They then explored making different seating arrangements as was done in the book. In this student example, it is evident that the number of tables stays the same (7). The tables correspond to area or one square unit each. The number of seats corresponds to the perimeter. As the arrangement of tables is changed, the number of seats, or the perimeter changes. Learn more about Marilyn Burns.
