Skip-Counting by 5 and 10 Using Coins on a 1-50 Chart
1-50 chart with nickels placed on it at intervals of 5
In this Kidspiration Activity, students use a fifty chart to practice skip-counting nickels by fives. Students should be familiar with couting by fives, so it is important to use this knowledge when learning about the value of the different coins.

Function table with number of nickels and value
Students then fill in the value of the nickels, familiarizing students with function tables which they will see throughout their math careers.

Likewise, students use dimes to skip-count by tens.

OT Teachers:
This Kidspiration file is saved in Hand-Out for grades K and 1. It is also in T-share under MATH-GradeK-Unit 4 OR MATH-GradeK-Unit 5
